Introduction

The Várpalota Swimming Pool is one of the city's most important sports facilities, built as part of the National Swimming Pool Program. The aim of the swimming pool is to provide swimming lessons and water sports in a safe, modern environmentfrom preschoolers to adults. The facility primarily serves to teach the basics of swimming, but it also provides space for school physical education classes, training sessions, and community sports programs. The teaching pool welcomes visitors with a modern water treatment system, barrier-free design, and energy-efficient operation.

Key features

The facility has two swimming pools available for children and guests:

  • a 25 x 15 m, six-lane swimming pool (1.90 m deep), with a water temperature of at least 25°C in the absence of any other provisions in the law or other public regulations
  • and a 10*6 m training pool (0.80 m deep), with a water temperature of at least 30 °C in the absence of any provisions to the contrary in legislation or other public law regulations or, in the absence of such provisions, a minimum of 30°C.

Lockers and hair dryers are available for guests in the changing rooms.

Accessibility

The swimming pool is located in the center of Várpalota and is easily accessible by car and on foot. There are several bus stops nearby, making it easily accessible by public transport. The building is fully accessible, including the entrance, changing rooms, and access to the pool area. Parking is available directly next to the swimming pool.
