Tés
Introduction
Tés is the highest altitude settlement in the Eastern Bakony Hills, where prehistoric and Roman ruins meet the characteristic windmills of the village: the functioning Helt's (1840) and Ozi's (1924) mills are protected industrial heritage monuments. The village is a popular starting point for hikers and cyclists on the national blue and red hiking trails, as it offers a wonderful panorama of the Bakony Hills and the surrounding villages. A walk leads to Széchenyi Zsigmond lookout tower, from where you can see the wind turbines in the area, among other things. The village's restaurants—rustic buffets and general stores—offer a hitchhiker's, excursionist atmosphere.
Location & Accessibility
It can be reached by car from the road between Várpalota and Szápár, as well as from Bakonynána via a narrow but paved side road. Bus services to the settlement also run from Szápár, Jásd, and Várpalota.
