Tegularium, the brick collection in Veszprém
In January 2023, the Tegularium / Tile Collection in Dubniczay Palace reopened with a varied concept and new pieces added to the exhibition. In 2006, the Tegularium, the brick collection of Veszprém, found a new home in the palace's cellar system and the adjoining 16th-century cannon bastion, a unique location. In this special exhibition, we present the brick and tile manufacturing tools and illustrations used from Roman times to the last quarter of the 20th century, as well as molding and stamped building materials and roof tiles. The 1,200 pieces, made from templates, scratched, hand-molded, stamped and embossed bricks from Hungary are displayed in the exhibition hall as industrial, historical, cultural, and artistic artifacts from more than 400 years ago. Guided tours, lectures, art education sessions, and workshops related to the exhibition are held regularly.
