Introduction

Szentkirályszabadja lies between Veszprém and Balatonalmádi, on the southern slopes of the Bakony Hills, and has a rich historical past. The small town's royal privileges were established in the Middle Ages, and its noble families played a decisive role for centuries. The cultural heritage is also reinforced by the memory of Miklós Radnóti, who wrote his last poem here. Due to the proximity of Lake Balaton and the natural features of the area, the town is characterized by tourism during the summer season.

Location & Accessibility

It is easily accessible by car from Veszprém and Balatonalmádi, both of which are located approximately 5 km away. Bus services mainly provide connections to the two neighboring towns, but long-distance services are also available to destinations such as Győr, Sopron, or Baja.
