Storytelling Bus Stops: Construction of the Housing Estate

Planning for the new Felszabadulás Road housing estate began in 1966 and construction was completed in 1980. The construction of the new housing estate was conceived in the 4th Five-Year Plan, fortunately in a location where no redevelopment or demolition of old buildings was necessary. The future housing development was sited north of the city centre, east of Felszabadulás Road, in an undeveloped rocky subsoil area on a sloping terrain of 60 acres of farmland.
