Statue of Placodonts, Cholnoky housing estate, Veszprém

The main purpose of placing the sculptures in the public space is to make the Placodonts (pseudotooth turtle), found by the Piarist teacher and geologist Dezső Laczkó in the early 20th century in the former quarry of Jerusalem Hill, more known and popularized as a Veszprém landmark. The Placodonts was a species of armoured turtle that lived nearly 200 million years ago, in the Cretaceous period, and was about 80-90 centimetres long
