The story of families and everyday life is history itself. We gather and show how our ancestors lived and how we live today.

The past of a town or a region can easily be forgotten if, after a while, its memories are preserved only in old pictures and archives. In our Private Veszprém project, supported by the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture programme, we are collecting and presenting the most significant memories of the last 150 years of Veszprém, with the involvement of local citizens. The history of the city is made visible through family stories: photo collections, public installations, interactive sculptures of past Veszprém people, bus stops transformed into private photo albums and the revival of famous shop windows. The real and virtual historical spaces connect the three temporal dimensions of dynamic memory: evoking the present, referring to the past and keeping the future in mind.
