Pannon Community Hub
Pannon Community Hub, located on the ground floor of Bdg 'E' of the University of Pannonia, opened its doors on 30th September 2021, as a result of the collaboration between the VEB2023 European Capital of Culture (ECoC) programme and the university. Pannon Community Hub serves as a community space and event venue that stimulates student activity, featuring ECoC themes and informational base functions, where ECoC community events and projects supported by ECoC are hosted. It provides a meeting place for successful ECoC applicants to hold their discussions. Active student groups, a mentoring community and members of the Student Self-Government also operate here. Additionally, the secretariat of UNeECC (University Network of the European Capital of Culture) is located in this space.
In 2023, the ECoC year, particular emphasis was placed on ECoC-supported project events: we were partners in several projects, including Generational Bridge, SoundPlay, InterUrban, Balatorium and Chaconne Festival. In 2023, active youth groups continued to operate in the Pannon Community Hub: events organised by the Student Self-Government, preparatory events for Veszprém University days teams and programmes related to youth in Veszprém County (ReYouth, GenVeszprém) took place here. Volunteers from the ECoC Shinies team also regularly held various events in this space.
