Öskü
Introduction
Öskü is located in the eastern part of the Bakony Hills, between Veszprém and Várpalota, with a rich historical and cultural heritage. One of the special features of the settlement is the circular stone church (rotunda), which is a rare example of Romanesque architecture in Hungary. The cultural life of the community is enriched by the programs and traditional events of the IKSZT Cultural Center, while its sporting life is marked by successes in wrestling and sumo. The local producers' offerings, such as homemade milk and cheese, provide a gastronomic experience.
Location & Accessibility
Easily accessible by car directly from Main Route 8 or from Route 82 via Hajmáskér. The settlement has a railway station with long-distance connections to Budapest and Szombathely, and regular bus services run to Veszprém and Székesfehérvár, as well as to cities such as Zalaegerszeg, Esztergom, Tatabánya, and Kecskemét.
