Káli ArtPark contemporary sculpture park
Káli Art Park: the Harmony of Art and Nature
Káli Art Park is located in the heart of the Balaton Uplands, in picturesque Kál Basin, in Köveskál, and offers a unique combination of contemporary art and natural beauty. In the 2023 European Capital of Culture programme for Veszprém, the park has a special place as a prominent venue for the cultural and artistic life of the region.
History and Mission
Káli Art Park was founded in 2010 with the aim of providing a space for contemporary sculptural artists and a place where art and nature meet. The park's founders are committed to preserving and presenting the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Kál Basin.
Exhibitions and Programmes
The exhibition is renewed annually and consists of artworks submitted to the Káli Art Park competition. There are no staff in the park on a regular basis, but the sculptures are accompanied by a digital calligraphy that navigates visitors to the park's website by scanning a QR code, where the artists present their work in their own words.
We regularly hold art workshops and cultural events to engage the community and promote the arts.
Community Involvement
Káli Art Park not only provides an experience for art lovers, but is also actively involved in the life of the local community. They organise educational programmes for school children to introduce them to different art forms and techniques. The park also hosts fairs for local artisans and producers, supporting the local economy and community.
Natural Environment
The park is set in a unique natural environment, which in itself makes it attractive to visitors. The volcanic hills of the Kál Basin, vineyards and meadows provide a picturesque backdrop for the artworks. Rest areas in the park offer the opportunity to enjoy the closeness of nature and relax.
Future Plans
Káli Art Park will continue to develop and expand. In the future, more art programmes are planned, as well as improvements to the park's infrastructure. The aim is to integrate Káli Art Park into the cultural offer of the region and to attract more visitors to the Lake Balaton Uplands.
Káli Art Park is a place where art and nature live in harmony. The works and programmes here not only provide an aesthetic experience, but also contribute to the cultural life of the local community. In the framework of the Veszprém 2023 European Capital of Culture programme, the park will take its rightful place in the region's heritage and will further enhance the cultural attractiveness of the Lake Balaton Uplands.
