House of Europe
Introduction
The House of Europe is located in the historic center of Kőszeg, and is one of the city's most important cultural and scientific centers. The tapestry of history and intrigue
Over the centuries, such renowned personalities as writer Sándor Tatay and diplomat Jenő Miske-Gerstenberger and his wife, Mary Allison-Walters, who played a role in espionage during World War II.
The building has been renovated several times, most recently as part of the KRAFT program, and since 2015 it has been home to the Kőszeg Institute for Advanced Studies (iASK). Today, the Europe House is a venue for conferences, research programs, exhibitions, cultural events, and international collaborations. The aim of the House is to build bridges between science, art, and society, both locally and globally.
Location & Accessibility
The Europe House is located in the center of Kőszeg, at 14 Chernel Street. It is easily accessible on foot from the Main Square, Jurisics Castle, and the city bus stops. For those arriving by car, there are a limited number of parking spaces available in the surrounding streets. The building is well signposted, the entrance is wheelchair accessible, and some of the interior spaces can also be visited by wheelchair.
