Introduction

Horrorarium and Torture Museum is located in the center of Keszthely, in a nearly two-hundred-year-old mill building. The exhibition presents torture methods from the Middle Ages to modern times, from the Far East to America. Visitors can learn about the most exciting chapters of history with the help of wax figures and hunting tools reconstructed based on contemporary documents, from the iron maiden to the gallows, from the sharp chair to the wheel.

The exhibition is unique in that is that famous historical figures such as Count Dracula and Elizabeth Báthory are presented through lifelike puppets. The dark room and the horror movie-like background music enhance the experience, which is only recommended for visitors with strong nerves.
