Herend
Introduction
Herend is located in Veszprém County, at the junction of the Northern and Southern Bakony Mountains, at an altitude of 341 meters above sea level. A significant part of the town's area is covered by forests and meadows, and industrial activity dominates instead of agriculture. The Herend Porcelain Manufactory has been in operation since 1826 and has become the economic and tourist center of the city. The Porcelanium visitor center, the porcelain art museum, and the Roman Catholic church with its unique porcelain windows are the main attractions. The town also has a modern school, sports hall, cultural center, and kindergarten.
Locaton & Accessibility
Herend is located next to the Main Route 8. The settlement is easily accessible by car, and public transportation is provided by the train station and bus station, which connect it to the surrounding towns.
