Handshake Europe Sculpture Park
Introduction
The Handshake Europe Sculpture Park is a cultural and tourist attraction in Balatonalmádi, located in the town's largest green area, in the Szent Erzsébet Park. The aim of the open-air exhibition, which opened in 2013, is to build a bridge between Hungarian and European contemporary sculpture. The park features more than 60 sculptures, including classical and non-figurative works by Hungarian and foreign artists. The exhibition is constantly expanding, and every two years a different European country is in the spotlight, so visitors can always enjoy new artistic experiences. The idea for the sculpture park came from painter Lajos Veszeli, who realized the project with the support of the local government. The park is unique in that it not only represents artistic value, but also preserves the proximity of nature, making it an ideal location for a peaceful, inspiring walk.
