Halimba
Introduction
Halimba, located at the foot of the Bakony Hills, just 13 km from Ajka, is a village that attracts visitors with its natural treasures and cultural heritage. The community is renowned for its herbal traditions and the work of Country Dean Dr. Miklós Szalai, who researched the healing properties of hundreds of medicinal plants here. The area offers fishing lakes, hiking spots, and the Malom Valley Recreation Park for relaxation, while the Dr. Szalai Miklós Memorial House and the Bauxite Mining Collection give you an insight into local history.
Location & Accessibility
The settlement is located between the town of Ajka (Padragkút District) and Nyirád. By bus, it can be reached directly from Veszprém and typically from the surrounding settlements (e.g. Ajka, Tapolca, Sümeg).
