Georgikon Farm Museum

Georgikon Farm Museum is located in Keszthely, near  Festetics Palace, and operates as a branch of the Hungarian Agricultural Museum and Library. The museum is part of  Georgikon, Europe's first agricultural higher education institution, on the site of its practical farming operations. The buildings, located on a two-hectare site, contain a wealth of exhibits illustrating life on the estate, the history of Hungarian agriculture, winemaking, viticulture, animal husbandry, and peasant crafts.

A special feature of the museum is the original, fully functional Fowler steam engine, which is started up on special occasions. This is a family-friendly institution with a playground, petting zoo, and play barn. In addition to the exhibitions, from spring to fall, there are colorful programs—such as Easter picnics, Kids' Day, and machine races— and museum education activities.

The museum is located in Keszthely, at 65-67 Bercsényi Miklós Street. It is close to the city center and Festetics Palace, and is easily accessible on foot or by car. Free parking is available on site. The nearest bus stop is only 100 meters away. The museum is open from April to November without prior appointment.
