The nationally protected listed building at 17 Vár St, Veszprém (land title No. 236) (formerly Simoga House stables building) was previously unused and has been given a new function. Foton Audiovisual Centre has become home of culture and visual arts. Foton is not operated by a municipal institution, but by bid winner Várkultúraplusz Ltd.

The ground-floor catering unit can be used as a venue for acoustic concerts, book launches, public meetings, as well as for visual arts and photography exhibitions. The 62-seat cinema room is used for film screenings and also hosts small theatre performances and concerts. The cinema will regularly screen films in their original language, showing the best of European and Hungarian cinema. The room is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and projection equipment. The building will also host literary programmes, art exhibitions and workshops. In the basement of the building, House of Arts has created a digital creation workshop, while the hanging gardens offer a space for relaxation and outdoor events.
