Fenyőfő
Introduction
Fenyőfő is a settlement located in the heart of the High Bakony, where natural values and historical monuments form a special harmony. The most famous attraction of the area is the Ősfenyves (Ancient Pine Forest), which is the only indigenous forest pine stand in the Carpathian Basin that has survived for pedological reasons. Near the settlement are the Pápalátó Stone, the Likas Stone, the ruins of the Noszlopy hut, as well as several caves, lookouts and gorges. The hiking trails of the Cuha Valley and the Kőpince Spring offer active recreation.
Location & Accessibility
It can be reached by car on a paved road from the direction of Bakonyszentlászló, from where infrequent bus services provide direct public transport connections. The nearest more frequent access is possible from the Vinye railway stop, from where the inhabited part of the village (4-5 km) can be reached with a roughly one-hour hike.
