Family friendly developments for House of Arts Veszprém
House of Arts Veszprém offers a special experience to all visitors through its exhibitions and events. Through continuous development, we strive to make this experience accessible to a wider audience. We try to give as many opportunities as possible to our guests with special needs to participate in our programmes, informing them about the opportunities offered by the venue. Volunteers and staff are trained to communicate with them. We plan activities and programmes where people of all ages feel comfortable. In terms of green objectives, we will continue to place a strong emphasis on minimising environmental impact at our events. An action plan will be developed based on the strategy and updated annually with longer-term objectives, results, experiences and feedback. This is included in the annual institutional work plan.
Indoor spaces are designed to be safe for children. The exhibition space offers at least one experience element every opening day that provides families with children aged 0-16 years with an enjoyable time together (e.g. children's corner, activity booklet, activities for children in the exhibition, playful family guides, scavenger hunt, activities adapted to the age specificities of teenagers, etc.).
At least once a quarter, the exhibition space will organise a programme specifically aimed at families (e.g. family day, guided family tour of the exhibition, etc.), in a form and with methods that ensure a multi-generational museum experience for families.
The annual strategic plan and the specific communication plan will include ways to reach families.
Every year we hold Days of Silence - soul-soothing programmes, art therapy sessions with a focus on people with disabilities. Our galleries are located in listed or heritage buildings where accessibility is not an easy task, but we place great emphasis on overcoming barriers, even by providing simple equipment. We strive to achieve language accessibility on our website, in our exhibition areas, we have also implemented accessibility for the visually impaired.
In terms of green objectives, we continue to place a strong emphasis on minimising the environmental impact of our events. Our aim is to make sure that people who leave say "I'll come with my family next time."
