Eplény
Introduction
Eplény lies at the junction of the Zirc basin and the Veszprém highlands. In winter, the Ski Arena can be used, with its night-lit slopes and Hungary's only four-seater chairlift to the top of Ámos Hill. During the rest of the year, the Ámos Hill recreation forest and nature trail offer nature programs, excursions and easy off-road adventures, while the Ski Arena is transformed into a mountain bike paradise. An iconic place in community life is the former "pub," now Community House, whose special cellar houses Ámos Winehouse. The settlement's hospitality offerings may periodically include discounted options, which can be found in the current information provided by local accommodation providers and the ski center.
Location & Accessibility
The settlement is crossed by Route 82 and the Veszprém-Győr railway line, the latter's station is located 2.5 km from the center. Frequent bus services are available to Veszprém and Lake Balaton, as well as Zirc and Győr.
