Csigó Art Fest
Csigó Art Fest is a multidisciplinary art event series held at Csigó Mill in Gyulakeszi since 2013. Over the years, nearly 200 events have taken place in the chamber hall and drawing room on the upper floor of the historic building, which has a capacity of 100-130 people. During the summer months, we held classical music concerts, music history lectures, courses, instrument exhibitions and demonstrations, panel discussions, book launches and stage performances. The year-round open gallery has hosted both temporary and permanent visual arts exhibitions, which provided opportunities for guided tours, meetings with artists and studio visits. Our events also showcased the wine culture of the BalatonUplands. Csigó Mill has become a key venue for cultural and social life in the region. Through these events, we evoke the spirit of the old salons and the intimate atmosphere of home music-making.
In 2022 and 2023, through the partnership of Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture, we organised our events under the titles CSIGÓ KULT FEST 2022 and CSIGÓ ART POINT 2023 as part of the CultNet Programme. In 2024, we will host 15 concerts, one stage performance, music history talks, an international master class, panel discussions and screenings of music-related videos and photographs.
On 28th June, we opened a contemporary group exhibition entitled 'BOX WORLD', which features several guided tours, and our five permanent exhibitions will be available for visitors to Csigó Mill throughout the year. Moving forward, in addition to continuing the above activities, we aim to develop classical music education through hosting master classes and to expand the scope of international events.
