The old, rustic peasant house at 129 Kossuth Lajos Street was transformed into a 'House of the Past' in 1991, a museum showcasing peasant life, initiated by the Kopzós-Pödrős Tradition Preservation Group. The building is over 100 years old and is one of the few original peasant houses that has remained intact, offering a glimpse into what the village’s streets once looked like and providing insight into the construction methods of that era.
The goal of the House of the Past and the exhibition hall located in the courtyard is not only to present the peasant living environment but also to introduce visitors to the traditional customs and celebrations that were once popular in the village. Most of the furnishings were donated by the residents of the village for the exhibition.
The preservation of the valuable artifacts and the protection of the collected items made it necessary to maintain and urgently repair the old building of the House of the Past. The infrastructure development grant from the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture programme provided assistance for this effort.
