Balatonalmádi, establishment of community hub at former Jesuit monastery
The aim of the development was to create a multifunctional community space that also serves as a recreational and cultural facility for the public. This development, which supports cultural and community programs, revitalised one of Balatonalmádi's significant but previously underused pieces of built heritage, the Monastery Gardens, reimagining it as a community space.
The newly created community space became a fitting venue for events related to cultural programmes that strengthen local identity. As part of the development, the underutilised gardens located on the Veszprémi Road and Thököly Street sides of the Monastery were comprehensively renewed, transformed and opened to the public.
The development included the transformation of the paving in the garden along Veszprémi Road, along with significant planting, and the creation of a modern covered terrace connected to the Monastery. In the garden on the Thököly Street side, the paving was redesigned, walkways were created, outdoor furniture was added, landscaping and planting were carried out, and a fountain was built.
