Bakonybél

Bakonybél, "the heart of the Bakony," lies in a picturesque valley in the Magas-Bakony, where nature and history meet. Among the sights of the settlement are thousand-year-old St. Mauritius Monastery, Pannon Observatory, and the legendary Holy Well. The hiking trails, lookout points, and caves in the area—including Odvaskő and Kerteskő Gorge— offer a special experience. Bakonybél can be accessed by car turning off from Route 82 at Zirc, and via Bakonykoppány from Pápa. It can typically be reached by bus from Veszprém, Zirc, and Pápa, but there is also a direct long-distance bus service to Budapest.
