The location is truly unparalleled and unique: a site carved into the red rock wall of Csere Hill, bordered by dense forest, offering an exceptional atmosphere. The red sandstones found here hold special value and significance for the locals, as they provided work and livelihood for their ancestors for centuries, creating and passing on value from generation to generation.
Alsóörs Amphitheatrr was a red stone quarry until the 1970s. After its reclamation in 2021, a planetarium was built – currently the largest planetarium in Hungary – along with a community building, a bar, a playground and a 450-seat, 12-row semicircular audience area made of red stone (amphitheatre) in the hillside. This space now hosts unforgettable theatre performances and concerts.
